Installing and uninstalling software over and over again can have a bad influence over the performance and the stability of the system. That's because when a program is uninstalled, it's not actually deleted completely from the system, as a lot of files and registry keys are left behind. These elements can cause some serious problems over time. That's why it's crucial to make sure that a program is completely removed from the system when it's uninstalled. Doing so using the Windows operating system alone is not possible.

In this case, SysTracer could help you. This Windows application can monitor the state of the registry and files stored on the hard disk before and after a program is installed. Thus, the user will be able to clearly see what files and registry keys are added by a newly installed application.

This simple Windows application takes little effort to install and can be used in the same easy manner. The main screen of the tabbed interface of SysTracer lists all the snapshots taken by the program, together with the date and time when they were taken. Using a single click, the user can take a complete system snapshot, including the most commonly used registry keys and all the files and folders stored on the hard disk. This process may take a while in case there are a lot of keys contained by the registry or the hard disk is filled up with files and folders.

After the snapshot process is over, the user can clearly see the state of the registry, including all its keys and also the files and folders stored on the hard disk. One should repeat the snapshot process after he installs the desired software, for being able to compare them.

Besides including registry keys and hard disk files, a snapshot can also contain the current list of drivers, DLL files, services and so on, so even the most complex programs can be efficiently monitored for changing the system.

Pros

It allows scanning the registry, together with all its keys and also all the information stored on the hard disk. Besides that, it can clearly state all the differences between two different snapshots. What's more, the DLLs and drivers included in the system can also be included into a snapshot.

Cons

The program doesn't allow removing all the keys and files that were added after a previous snapshot, as the user should do this manually. SysTracer is s helpful utility for taking complete snapshots of the system and comparing any of them for changes.
